About this app

Kado is a calorie counter built around one idea: the number should be trustworthy.

REAL RESTAURANT MENUS
More than 25 major US chains and over 4,500 menu items, taken from the chains' own published nutrition data — not guessed, not crowdsourced. Build your bowl, burrito or sandwich piece by piece and see exactly what you are eating.

PHOTO, BARCODE OR SEARCH
Snap a photo and Kado breaks the plate into separate items. Scan a barcode. Or search a database of more than 480,000 foods from USDA and Open Food Facts.

Photo recognition is an estimate and Kado says so. When you eat at a chain we have, the restaurant menu gives you the official number instead of a guess.

SHARE A RECIPE
Send a recipe as a link, or show a QR code when you are together. The whole recipe travels inside the link itself and never touches our servers.

MORE THAN CALORIES
Fiber, sugar, added sugar, saturated and trans fat, sodium, potassium, cholesterol, calcium, iron, vitamin D. Where a food has no data, Kado shows "no data" — never a zero pretending to be a measurement.

A TARGET THAT FOLLOWS YOUR DAY
Connect Health Connect and your daily target adjusts to how much you actually move. In the morning it uses your typical activity from the past two weeks; by evening it settles on what you really did.

WORKS OFFLINE
The core food database ships inside the app. Search and log without a connection — in a gym basement, on a plane, abroad.

NO ADS. NO TRACKING.
No advertising. No analytics SDKs. No third-party trackers. Your diary is yours.

NO ACCOUNT REQUIRED
Everything works without signing in, photo recognition included — your data stays on your phone. Sign in only if you want your diary synced across devices.

Delete your account and all its data from inside the app, at any time. Export everything as CSV or JSON whenever you want.

Kado is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
