About this app
Do you know where the closest hospital is from your home? Do you know where you can easily access an ambulance from during an emergency situation? Are you prepared?
Explore Indore app is the answer to these questions and more. Acropolis Institute of Technology and Research, the local partner of the Secondary Cities initiative, with help from Kathmandu Living Labs, has been spearheading the ground effort to produce robust geospatial data for Indore for the past one and a half years. It is hoped that the critical infrastructure information made open here plays an integral part in keeping both yourself and your neighbors safe.
The app has been conceived in partnership with Kathmandu Living Labs (KLL). KLL is the local partner of the Secondary Cities Project -- a field-based initiative of the Office of the Geographer at the U.S. Department of State. This application is the output of more than two year's worth of intense geospatial data collection. Further, data has been ground-truthed, validated and verified at various levels to ensure accuracy. With details about all health, education, finance, religious places and much more, people can also use this app to make informed decisions about where to go and how to get there during their day to day activities as well as during emergency situations.
