I'm really disappointed with Locals. The feature that allows event covers to include sound is absolutely terrible. It’s annoying, intrusive, and completely ruins the user experience. I open the app to check events, not to be blasted with random noises or music. Who thought this was a good idea? There should at least be an option to turn it off, but there isn’t. The app is cheap and unprofessional. I used to enjoy using Locals, but now it’s just frustrating.

Useless if you organize non-commercial events. When the community of your event/club grows a bit bigger (100+ people), the application starts to extort a paid subscription from you. You can not create new events (even if they are completely free to participate). So sooner or later, the organizer has to switch back to a Telegram or WhatsApp group. That already happened to me, and to friends who organize other events in a same city

*Be Careful* I liked the app idea and downloaded it, but I never managed to set it up and use it. Despite this, I then had two different payment amounts taken without my consent, the second almost double the first one. I tried contacting them via email, and the chatbot, but the email just bounced back to me, when I tried to cancel whatever subscription they had me in (despite not using the service) and to request a refund. The only solution was to get my bank to prevent payments to them.

What’s new

Google Calendar integration
You can now connect your Google Calendar when creating a 1:1 session on Locals. Once connected, the system will check your availability, prevent double bookings, and automatically add sessions to your calendar, keeping everything aligned in one place.
