Instead of considering this app unnecessary bloat added by Amazon, I think its a useful function that we should expect to work out of the box. I print so rarely I may never use this, but calling it malicious is just silly. Its part of the system. Its built in. Additionally the developers seem to respond to a lot of reviews on the Play Store. Even if they are just trying to get better ratings, I appreciate their attentiveness.
Amazon needs to let buyers know that this app is part of your android purchase & will download without your permission. Developers need to create a pre-download message that gives Amazon customers the option to install or reject it. I thought that it was MALWARE and went into a serious panic mode. I uninstalled it at least 3 times and 24 hours later it reinstalled without permission. I GAVE UP after that. Today I was contacted by the Developer who reassured me that it is a part of my purchase. I currently have no use for it but hope that it comes in handy in the future OR that I have the ability to uninstall an app that I do not use. So my stars are for the polite Developer who contacted me today.
Immediately uninstalling anything that decides to install on my phone without permission and reporting it. Installed on phone without permission, no prompt or otherwise, just appeared. As far as I'm concerned, that beaches my expectations of any play store app and the permissions platform on android, and is deemed as virulent behaviour
I know a lot of people are complaining about this app being on their phones, kindles without them knowing but there's tons of things on electronic devices that I don't want on it but its rare to have a app that Is actually useful. Give it a try , its not a bad app
This app installed on my Amazon fire without my permission and took up so much additional space the fire automatically deleted a whole bunch of my content. I do not want it and would much prefer to have my space back. Who is going to be printing from these mobile devices anyway? Update - after reading developer comments I see what has happened. Since this was integrated into fire os originally the google play just updated to a newer version. You can roll back to the core os version by uninstall and then disable it to prevent additional updates. The updates take up additional space vs the os image.
It installed automatically. I will never use it and I don't want it. The worse thing is, you cannot uninstall it. Update : I was contacted and found out how and why this app showed up. I still do not think I will ever use the app, I will have the "older version" in the background.
