Got this app to print from my two mobile android devices to my Pantum wireless laser printer. (The app supplied by Pantum did not work with either device.) At first the Mopria app looked like it was printing but nothing came out. After several back and forths with Mopria support they told me the printer firmware had to be updated and gave me th URL for the update. After the firmware update Mopria works great with the printer. Bravo Mopria support. (The Pantum app still doesn't work with my android devices!)
Instead of considering this app unnecessary bloat added by Amazon, I think its a useful function that we should expect to work out of the box. I print so rarely I may never use this, but calling it malicious is just silly. Its part of the system. Its built in. Additionally the developers seem to respond to a lot of reviews on the Play Store. Even if they are just trying to get better ratings, I appreciate their attentiveness.
I didn't like that it appeared out of no where when it updated, making me think it installed itself. How ever having the ability to connect to printers if I ever needed to print anything might be useful in the future. So I've fixed my review in light of looking into it further than just getting mad it appeared out of seemingly nowhere.
THANKS A LOT It's an amazing app. Guys who r giving negative feedback. This is like a built-in system app. That's why it comes pre-installed and u can't delete it. It's an amazing app for a person who uses it. If u don't use it u don't have the right to give a negative review. There r many things in your smartphone that you don't use, doesn't mean it's of no use. Thanks to all
Immediately uninstalling anything that decides to install on my phone without permission and reporting it. Installed on phone without permission, no prompt or otherwise, just appeared. As far as I'm concerned, that beaches my expectations of any play store app and the permissions platform on android, and is deemed as virulent behaviour
I feel bad for the developers. It's actually a very useful app and gives me more printing options than the dedicated hp app. I was a little freaked out when it appeared out of nowhere, but that was because Amazon preloads it on devices and it was updating itself through the play store; not the developer's fault.
