Review from Liz Cary
I used to love the app, but with the new update I see things as well. I can make the font bigger, but that doesn't help my top sites on my home page. The icons are way to small. There should be an option to change that for people with eye issues.
This browser is just plain sad. Takes forever to fire up, you have no real control over your OWN home page. It can lockup your OS, it renders videos horribly and the devs don't respond to anything but their fan club. The crashes are daily and the REVIEW bots real and very active on this app.
The worst update ever. 56th works nice and easy, but 57th has a couple of bugs 1. Goddamn white status bar is bad working with my MIUI os 2. Not working when firefox got link from other app like DuckDuckGo offic8ial app - just thincking so much and dont load page. Will waiting for next update, i believe in opensource
For me the speed is good, bit I have disabled the pocket stuff. Maybe that's why people are complaining of speed issues. But the home page is dreadful, turning pocket off shows just 8 big squares with a letter in them with a huge empty space beneath. Hopeless, and far too white.
Comes with a proprietary service named "pocket" integrated into the browser that can not be removed but only deactivated. This "feature" needlessly undermines the privacy aspect of the browser and is detrimental to trust in the project as a whole. It seems to be driven more by matters of advertising than their supposed core principles.
Definitely a big improvement but on Android Chrome still feels a bit faster and more fluid. Some pages load content first and then the heading. When I enter new URL, there seems to be a period of time when I do bit know if the app is responding, it even sometimes still shows the old url from previous page. After a while the page turns white, then the loading bar gets to around 60 percent and most od the page is displayed. Then it seems a bit stuck again and after few seconds it shows some additional content like ads or page header.
Firefox has always been my favorite browser, and I especially like that I can sync my history and such. However, ever since I upgraded to Android Oreo, Firefox continually crashes each time I use it. I've sent like 10 crash reports per day since a few weeks ago, and I hope the crashing will get fixed soon
