About this app

MyCoast allows anybody to quickly submit photos of coastal events, such as storm damage or king tides, to state agencies. Use our app to snap a photo, pinpoint your location and upload it to the mycoast.org server.

MyCoast is used by participating US states to track a number of types of events including storm damage, abandoned boats, beach clean-up programs, king tides and nuisance flooding.

Good concept but there seems to be no way to create a report if you are not physically located at the beach at present. Hopefully it will pop up with adopt-a-beach options once I return to the coast, but I see no instructions whatsoever.

Hi there - you should be able to log a beach cleanup from anywhere, though the data will be better if you're at the beach as the app will get the locations of each item too. Email us (support@blueurchin.com) and we can sort it out!

I loved this app, great for checking tide and participating in community science. However since the last update (where the logo changed) the app won't connect to the internet. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times but the problem remains.

Hi there - apologies for the delay - support@mycoast.org is a bit of a more reliable way to reach us. Are you still experiencing this? Does the app say "no internet" on the front page?

You cannot select tne area from which you would like to get tides... I want locations in Washington State, but all I can gey is California tides. I tried the site help, but they couldn't help. So, goodbye.

Hi there - thank you for your feedback. Selecting a specific tide station wasn't a feature that the app offered originally, but we just published an update today which will allow you to do that.
