Ratings and reviews

Nice that there's an app, but unfortunately it's riddled with bugs. For example, I gave it access to my calendar and it entered incorrect times; it showed talks until 3 pm and did not load any talks after that; did not synchronize "my events" between the website and the app.

8 years after my initial review and the app is barely any better. it suddenly forgets selected talks or reselects talks I have already deselected, it shows conflicts for talks where there are none - and it even shows conflicts for posters. As far as my experience goes, it is quite possible to see more than one poster during a session. Unbelievable..

I registered for a course at Photonics West 2025 and misunderstood the schedule. I thought it would not be an issue to get _some_ sort of compensation for the missed course. I was wrong. SPIEs policy regarding a course is that you either show up or don't they will still take all your money. I have paid $500 and received next to nothing for that investment. I advise you all to think carefully before trusting SPIE.

What’s new

8.0.0 introduces a new program page UI, providing a more streamlined view of sub-symposia and exhibitions. New sort options have also been added, making it easier for attendees to find relevant content. Also new in this release: Application Tracks, which group events into a series of high-interest topics that span multiple conferences within a symposium.
8.02 includes bug fixes.
