About this app

This app is dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of people living in Birmingham and Solihull. It links you with local support and life enhancing services from across the area in the simplest way possible. The Waiting Room (TWR) is the one stop directory of support that puts health and wellbeing at your fingertips.

The Waiting Room App is very different from other online directories in that it’s simple to access, search, navigate and share. With an emphasis on protection and prevention, it also recognises the value of non-traditional health services that can be vital in supporting our overall wellbeing and quality of life.

The Waiting Room is split into 24 Life Domain areas and by clicking on an area will take the user through to a list of local and national websites and contact numbers that can be accessed for the purpose of information and direct support. The Life Domains include Welfare Advice, Education and Employment Support, Mental Health, Suicide Prevention support, Help lines, Substance Misuse service support, Children and Young People services, Virtual Support and Abuse prevention services to name but a few.

The Waiting Room is a free of charge online App that has been developed and is provided by Common Unity – a West Midlands health and wellbeing service that supports communities to support themselves through innovative approaches.
