About this app

WxAlerts watches the radar so you don't have to. Instead of just telling you a
warning was issued for your county, WxAlerts tracks individual storm cells in
real time and tells you whether THIS storm is actually headed your way — and how
long until it arrives.

KNOW WHICH STORMS THREATEN YOU
WxAlerts uses your location to figure out which storms are a genuine threat to
you specifically, not just your county. Each threat shows you the hazard type,
its confidence level, how fast it's moving, the direction it's traveling, and an
estimated time of arrival. No more guessing whether that warning on the news
actually matters where you're standing.

GET WARNED EVEN WHEN THE APP IS CLOSED
Enable background alerts and WxAlerts will notify you about approaching storms
without you having to keep the app open. We only check your rough location
periodically to see what's nearby — never continuous tracking.

LIVE NEXRAD RADAR
View high-resolution NEXRAD radar straight from the source. Pick from the
nearest radar sites or save your favorites, scrub through recent radar history
with the playback bar, and adjust opacity to see exactly what's happening in the
sky around you.

ALL THE HAZARDS THAT MATTER
WxAlerts tracks tornadoes, hail, damaging wind, lightning, and severe storms —
backed by radar signatures, lightning data, and storm motion. Toggle NWS
watches, warnings, and advisories on the map to see the full picture.

STORM CHASER TRACKING
Follow public storm chasers in the field or coordinate with your own team using
Chase Mode and live chaser positions on the map.
