Radio Atipiri 840 Modulated Amplitude was born on February 7, 2006, as an alternative, educational and popular means of communication, as an initiative of the Aymara communicator Donato Ayma Rojas, life president of the Center for Education and Communication for Indigenous Communities and Peoples CECOPI, in the city of El Alto, department of La Paz in Bolivia.
The station was born under the inspiration of the “Democratization of Communication” proposal, therefore, most of the radio programs have prioritized the access and participation of girls, boys, adolescents, young people and Aymara women from the city of El Alto. and the provinces of the department of La Paz, to this media.
Radio promotes not only the exercise of the right to communication and information, but also full citizenship through the exercise of speech.
The radio's programming is bilingual (Aymara and Spanish) and has extensive radio production on educational and alternative topics, aimed at children, youth and the strengthening of Aymara women in the department of La Paz.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, CECOPI and Radio Atipiri enter a new stage, and that is to have online betting, maintaining the usual participatory and educational format.
