About this app

Blur the background of any photo and get real DSLR bokeh — no professional camera required. Phocus is an AI portrait editor that adds natural depth of field, beautiful background blur, and
authentic vintage lens effects to every picture in your gallery.

BACKGROUND BLUR & BOKEH
• Blur background on any photo — not just portrait-mode shots
• Adjustable blur strength: subtle defocus to heavy DSLR-style bokeh
• Multiple bokeh shapes: circular, oval, and anamorphic lens streaks
• Tap-to-focus depth control — choose exactly what stays sharp
• Tilt-shift blur for a professional camera look

VINTAGE LENS EFFECTS
• Classic lens character inspired by legendary vintage glass
• Swirly bokeh, soap-bubble bokeh, and dreamy glow looks
• Anamorphic streaks and lens distortion for a cinematic feel
• Custom bokeh light overlays for night portraits

AI PORTRAIT EDITOR
• AI subject detection separates foreground and background automatically
• Smart depth map: realistic blur that increases with distance
• Refine the selection with a brush and eraser for pixel-perfect edges
• Edit foreground and background separately: brightness, contrast, saturation, sharpness, vibrance, temperature
• Face-aware sharpening for headshots and selfie portraits

FILTERS & EFFECTS
• Cinematic presets for a film-like look
• Color Splash, Stage Lighting, Mono Lighting
• HDR, Cartoon, Surface, and Fade effects
• Lens flare, grain, and texture overlays

WHO IS PHOCUS FOR?
• Content creators who want DSLR-style portraits for social media
• Professionals polishing headshots without a studio
• Photography lovers exploring depth of field, bokeh, and vintage lenses
• Anyone who wants to fix a busy background on photos already in their camera roll

Phocus works on your existing photos: pick any picture, let the AI build a depth map, then blur the background, shape the bokeh, and finish with pro-grade filters — all on your phone, in
seconds.

Download Phocus free and turn any photo into a DSLR-quality portrait. No account required.

Whether you search for a background blur editor, a bokeh camera effect, a depth-of-field tool, or vintage lens filters — Phocus gives your photos the blurry background and professional portrait
look of an expensive camera.

It seemed the app could have potential, until it crashed just under a minute of using it. It continually crashed everytime I opened the camera. I mainly wanted to use it for the mono stage light effect but the quality of the effect was quite poor even with a decent camera. This is not an app that should cost money. I was also disappointed to find out that after purchasing it, you still do not have a ful version. There are far better apps that are free. I immediately got a refund.

Was looking for an app that utilized the studio lighting like the new iPhone XS. This app looked promising without having to purchase the iPhone. I am using a Samsung Note 8. I opted to purchase this app @ $2.99. After installing, the app keeps crashing, over and over. ALSO, I was unaware that if you want to access any other mode other than a basic camera mode, you have to pay $2.99/month or $17.99/year subscription! I don't recall reading about extra costs after purchasing. uninstalled.

I can't paint the mask to the edge of the screen, the interface is not intuitive at all. To switch from one tool to another you cannot just tap the tool you want. It's promising but there is still a lot of work to do before it's really useful. Therefore now the price is just too high and I will be uninstalling the app to be refunded by Google Play. Sorry guys, but this is okay for a beta version, not for a paid app.
