About this app

Yandex.Key is an authenticator generating one-time passwords (OTP) for Yandex, Google, GitHub, Dropbox,, and other services with two-factor authentication (2FA). The v3 update is pretty to look at, but very frustrating due to it wanting me to give my old device a code to transfer my account over with. Except my old device is the same device v3 has been updated on. There seems no way to stop it referencing the account, so fear I'm going to lose my account in future because I can't transfer it over

Do I understand correctly that there were difficulties in restoring accounts from a backup? Please write to us at and tell us what device you have — we'll try to figure out what is wrong.

Very stupid 2fa tool which depends on a four digits, so called pin code, to generate a temporary password. If you forget this four digits, you can't access your account, even you hold the original password, cellphone and extra info. I don't find any other 2fa working like this. And guess what, the process they designed to recover your account will ask you to enter the four digits again. Hah,genius! Finally, I lost my account. It's not a big deal. I may create a new one, and keep away from this

The most horrible app I have ever seen.. Full of bugs and forced me to login with this mad app either I'm sure the pin code is correct but can't accept it while logging in to my account and I can't return it back to access my account by a normal password as before

It's a pity that this situation happened. Please write to us at and tell us more about the difficulties you encountered — we will try to figure out what is wrong.

What's new

— The interface has been updated: we added a dark theme and refreshed the design.
— It's now easier to connect two-factor authentication: everything is done directly in Yandex Key, without any need for an account. The number of configuration steps is now 2 instead of 5.
— Logging in is now simpler. Now, instead of needing a master password, you can log in using biometrics or the device's PIN code.
