There are no full screen pop-up adds. There is an add bar, which can be removed by purchasing full version.


More detailed description:
Sync works two-way, thus you can edit text files from your Dropbox folder on PC or other devices. App reads and writes files in plain text format (default .txt).
App can be used offline. Changes are locally stored and synchronized later via background service or sync on demand.
On newer devices (API > 23) app offers an option to save text selection directly into a note.
Text editor offers undo / redo and is highly customizable.

Internet access permission is required for synchronization purposes with your Dropbox account. Should the app crash, the app will also ask for the permission to send a
crash log via Crashlytics tool (Crashlytics is owned and operated by Google inc.).

Other permissions are required for background sync, which can be turned off.

edit on 3-19-2023 wow, can't believe it's been three years using this app. I'm reducing my rating because the search function is still sub-par. Please spend some time improving the search function within a document. I keep notes and need to search for keywords within them constantly. Searching for a word doesn't take me to the word. I still have to scroll down to find it. original was on 10-8-2020 Text editor with Dropbox sync. Have bought the license.

An overall solid, useful app. It works well, and the ads are unobtrusive. One major deficiency lies in the handling of rich text. Given that the goal is a simple, text-only notepad, pasting formatted text (e.g. copied from a website) should strip out the formatting. It is odd that such a common use-case has been overlooked. EDIT: The author claims inability to replicate the above, so it remains unfixed. Now, another bug has shown up: the editor does not accept the “tab” character.

I love this! I use it to edit my to-do list, shopping list, and reading list on the go. I've tried MANY cloud-syncing plain text editors for Android. This is hands-down the best choice if you're looking for a simple, reliable text editor and without a bunch of clutter from code editing features. (Why would you want to do that on mobile, anyway?)
