About this app
Báb is a village in Slovakia, in the district of Nitra. The village is located in the southwestern part of the Nitra hills 19 km from Nitra. Chotár is a loess hill on the slopes of the valley southeast of the village with smaller oak and hornbeam forests, elsewhere it is deforested. It has mostly brown earth soils.
Little Bab is mentioned in writing in 1156, from 1788 he had the right to a fair. Restored Bábsky jarmok in 2010. The village has a Roman Catholic Church, the Roman Catholic Church of St. Imrich from 1761, on the artificial hills near the cemetery Malý Báb is the Calvary with three crosses. In 2006, the eight hundredth anniversary of the first written mention was celebrated in the village (1156). In the cadastral territory of the village (part of Malý Báb) there is a water reservoir under the agate forest. At the Malý Báb cemetery there is a locality of the occurrence of a protected plant - Hlaváčika jarného. When entering the village from the south side (from the R1 expressway) there are unique cellars in the clayey soil, on the left side you will see the so-called Jewish cemetery. In the part of the village Alexandrov dvor (Veľký Báb) there is a manor house and a protected forest.
