Worked great for about a year, then stopped playing the last several minutes of TV episodes. Audio keeps playing, but the picture freezes and it won't seek forward. Tried restarting the app, rebooting the box, clearing cache, etc. I paid for this app and now it doesn't even work. Will be switching to Jellyfin if this remains unfixed.

For the most part everything works fine, but when I have multiple versions of recorded TV shows and movies, it will only play the original video file. For example, I use Mcebuddy to remove commercials, but I want to keep the original files in case MceBuddy cuts too much out. I select the other video file, but it refuses to play it and only plays the original. This does not happen on the regular Emby app, only on the Android TV version. Very strange and I hope it gets fixed soon.

No, it isn't perfect, but the overall rating for this is too low. Emby is a great product that runs on just about everything and Emby Premier is a good value considering what it does and what you can do with it. The Google TV app is what we use on our two major TVs and Chromecast on the third and we use Emby as the DVR, the Live TV provider, and the media library (not music, however). I've used Emby on a Chromecast in Europe to watch TV from home in the US to give you a sense of what you can do. All of the apps are constantly updated and worked on - which is great, although that sometimes means you can get an instability here and there. If you want to free yourself from the tyranny of a Live TV provider that decides how long you keep recordings, how many you can have, what the Guide looks like, where you can watch a particular show (localization), whether you can skip ads or not, puts unwanted advertising in the Guide, and leases you hardware for monthly fees for all of this, well then Emby is an alternative that allows you to take back control.
