Summary of major new engine work completed in this new version:

4 years after the original release of Spades Free, we are happy to announce our single greatest improvement in play quality, after a prolonged period devoted just to Spades. This has always been a collaborative project shared with York University and has combined the best of AI research with game industry engineering to achieve the best result so far. In this last period particular attention was paid to bidding and the Nil game, but we also made substantial progress in the Joker variants and efficiency of the analysis. Ratings and reviews

I want to 5 star this game because in most ways it's the best Spades app. It knows how to play the game, is very customizable, and no add between hands, only inbeyween games. But alas this game does cheat. The people claiming this are correct. Other have address the NILS so I'll say the game plays to underbid like crazy and every hand it rewards its high risk throwing off in a way that only knowing what your opponents have can achieve. I could continue but the 500 cap. This is honestly cheating.

Terrible game play. Computer players when on your team make dumb moves. During nil bets they will throw out a low spade when they have higher spades in hand. Not even a beginner would do that. Computer team knows your hand and makes plays no one would make in a normal game. Developers don't care I've brought it up (with screenshots) and they don't fix it. Find another Spades app. This one is garbage. Also, computer bids nil almost EVERY hand (even with nil setting turned down).

Overall, the gameplay is excellent. The lack of five stars is due to one's partner having no idea how to play when you (the only human playing) bids nil. I cannot count the number of times I have seen my partner lead with (or later play) a low card that leads to me winning a hand (which is not good while bidding nil) and, in a later hand, play a higher card which would have let my attempt at nil continue. Not saying it's easy to program, but it's extremely frustrating; a human wouldn't do that.
