The faux magazine experience is a little clunky, and there is no dark mode. For some reason there's no hyphens in the text from the app where they exist in the original articles viewed on the website. I can't figure out a reason for this outside of some final filter to hide the use of large language models, but I hope that's not the case because that would be a deal-breaker for my subscription. I see what they're shooting for in the overall design, but they're still slightly off the mark.

It's ironic that Wired, a technology magazine, can't get its digital subscription onboarding right. The mobile app's sign-up flow is broken, and the UK edition is different from the US edition. Despite paying for a yearly print and digital subscription in the US, it doesn't grant access to the Android app, which is only for the UK edition. Their outdated FAQ and convoluted sign-up process are frustrating. I spent an hour trying to fix this, only to end up back where I started.

Do not subscribe to wired. Despite being a good magazine, they seem to have some form of intentional policy in place that makes it very hard to cancel your subscription. I called and got bounced around three times. Their website puts you into an endless sign-in loop if you try to "manage your subscription", their automated phone prompts contain every option except to cancel your subscription.
