Passenger Assistance is the new easy-to-use app for disabled people and their carers to request assistance for rail travel in Great Britain. It simplifies the process of booking assisted train travel, allowing you to input your accessibility requirements, organise assistance for train travel and receive updates on the status of your request.
This app is aimed to support rail passengers (& their carers) with any disability, including mobility impairments, sensory impairments or non-visible impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism & Learning Difficulties, to ensure they can travel with the confidence they will receive the assistance they need.

With our app, disabled passengers can organise assistance for end-to-end train journeys across multiple Train Operating Companies. Passenger Assistance brings all parts of your journey together, removing the need to get information and request assistance from multiple sources. Instead, download the Passenger Assistance app and request to book your journey in advance, and await the confirmation update from the Train Companies letting you know your assistance is all confirmed ahead of travel!
We use an Accessibility Service
We design our app with accessibility in mind, meaning you may find features that aim to increase usability of our app. One such example is the ability to use the volume buttons to select your travel date and time which could be particularly beneficial for users with screen readers. In order for this to work, we need to be able to collect and track all keyboard taps, volume button presses etc. To enable this, you will be given the option to update your phone settings. We will not collect or use any other kind of user activity data.

Let us know where you’ll be travelling to and from, on what day and at which time, so travel staff have all the details they need to make your journey run smoothly.
✔️ Assistance sorted
Send your assistance request on the app and this will be sent directly to the train operator, who will arrange assistance for you. We will tell you when your booking is confirmed. Then, all you have to do is book your ticket and you’re on your way.
Sometimes the journey booking process isn’t as easy or transparent as it could be and Passenger Assistance was created and designed to help improve accessibility across Great Britain’s rail network. We know that a lack of certainty around requesting assistance can sometimes lead to delays, stress, and low confidence in using rail travel. Passenger Assistance has been created as a new disability app to address and give disabled passengers the flexibility and information needed to organise journeys with confidence.
In the near future, Passenger Assistance will be available for additional modes of transport, making travelling even more accessible.
