About this app

A character table with letters from different writing systems, accented letters and diacritics, punctuation, mathematical symbols, emoji and other special characters. Explore familiar scripts or find aesthetic characters for names and text.

Find a character
• Search by name, paste a character to identify it, or enter a code point such as U+0394, 0x0394 or \u0394.
• Jump directly to a Unicode block instead of scrolling through the whole table.
• Use the fast scrollbar to move quickly through the character table.
• Revisit recent characters without searching again.

Inspect the details
• Touch and hold a character to open detailed information.
• View the character’s name, code point, Unicode block and version, and its HTML and CSS representations.
• Pinch to zoom in and inspect the character’s shape.
• Identify invisible and control characters by their visible abbreviations.

Build a collection
• Tap characters to add them to the Unicode pad in the bottom bar, then touch and hold the pad to copy them together into another app.

Offline and device support
• The character database is included in the app, so it works offline.
• Character appearance depends on your device and its fonts.
• Older Android versions may not display newer characters and emoji.

Coming up on my one year anniversary with this app and it's never let me down! It's light, it's easy to navigate, and the UI alone is so very kind to me. I'll forever carry unspeakable gratitude for developers who are mindful of actual usability over profit－too many people want to capitalize off of what should be a quite basic tool! Like why did I just get an unskippable ad using a dictionary app? It's a freakin' dictionary! Anyway, I digress! I couldn't be happier with this app, 10/10 :)

Thanks so much for this! I am unable to survive without a character map in Windows; it only just occurred to me to look for one for Android, as I was editing one of my innumerable text files. IMO a good character map is a must-have indispensable writing tool; I should have grabbed this a long time ago. I only just installed it, and it's already been immensely useful. No more hunting down characters on the web.

get your uni's...the saving to clipboard and scrolling through clipboard till u find the right symbol part is a bit tedious (especially if you trying to draw stuff with the Uni's) but it works and theres tons of symbols to discover. Real fun if you have OCDish tendencies. Picking through the enormous list for the right size, spacing, thickness, height, etc....real fun!

Now you can also tap characters to collect them in the pad at the bottom and search using multiple words.

The app opens much faster, and remembers where you left off.
I also polished the UI and animations.
