Wildlife Ranger Phonics turns sounds into an adventure across a wildlife park.

Every animal in the park teaches one sound. Ant the Monkey teaches the "a" in "ant". Pip the Squirrel teaches the "p" in "pat". Meet an animal, and it asks for words containing its sound — your ranger types them in, letter by letter, on a keyboard that only offers the sounds they have learned so far.

Befriend every animal in a world and you can face the grumpy monster at the gate. Find enough words before the timer runs out, the gate swings open, and the ranger walks on into the next world.

WHAT YOUR CHILD PRACTISES:

- Hearing a sound inside a whole word, not just naming letters
- Blending sounds into words and segmenting words back into sounds
- Recognising that one spelling can make different sounds — the "oo" in "book" is not the "oo" in "moon", and each has its own animal
- Reading and typing words under gentle time pressure at the gates

17 worlds follow the order phonics is taught in school, beginning with s, a, t, p, i, n and building through every common letter-sound pattern to a final battle at Phonics Tracker Castle.

HOW IT WORKS:

- Worlds 1 to 3 are free to play, in full, with no time limit and nothing switched off
- One optional purchase unlocks worlds 4 to 17 forever — no subscription
- Every word your child types is checked against how it is really pronounced, so an animal only accepts words that genuinely contain its sound

BUILT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN

- No advertising of any kind
- Nothing to buy without answering a question a young child cannot
- Works completely offline once installed — no signal needed in the car or on a plane
- Several named save games, so brothers and sisters keep separate progress
- A guide for grown-ups explaining what each world teaches and how to help
- The are always regional/dialect inconsistencies with some sounds, but the game attempts to be a broad match where possible

Designed for ages 4 to 7, and for anyone beginning to read English.
