IndustryPayments lets you look up, save, and revisit federal Open Payments records for physicians and other practitioners; what you save stays on your device.

On your device — with or without a connection

- Save any provider record. Your saved and recently viewed lists (last 20) are stored on this device only and never transmitted — no accounts, no server-side profile.
- Offline, the app still renders: totals by program year and by nature of payment are built in, stamped with the CMS data date, and refresh once online.
- A saved provider stays readable when the live record cannot load: your entry, the date you saved it, and a retry.
- Remove one, clear recently viewed, or remove everything in one tap. Nothing leaves the device.

The records

Open Payments is the federal transparency program created by the Physician Payments Sunshine Act (42 U.S.C. § 1320a-7h): drug and medical-device companies must report payments and other transfers of value to physicians and non-physician practitioners, and the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) publishes them.

- Search provider records by name.
- Open a provider for its latest-program-year payment records: company, date, amount, nature of payment, and whether CMS marks the record disputed.
- Browse by program year, nature of payment, state, specialty, or reporting company.
- Open the official CMS record for any provider.

Figures are General Payments only; Research and Ownership/Investment are separate CMS datasets and are never summed with them. Teaching-hospital records in the CMS source are not included here.

Datasets: the 2019–2025 "General Payment Data" files and the "Covered Recipient Profile Supplement", at https://openpaymentsdata.cms.gov/datasets. Each record is shown as CMS published it; totals are sums of those amounts, never estimated, weighted, or combined across datasets.

What a reported payment means

"Financial relationships do not necessarily indicate an improper relationship; the data is open to interpretation." — CMS Open Payments

A reported payment reflects a financial relationship a company disclosed. It does not indicate wrongdoing or a conflict of interest, and says nothing about the quality of care. Companies submit and attest to these records; CMS publishes them as reported, and this app displays them without independent verification. A payment attributed to a provider may have gone to a hospital, practice, or research institution rather than to the provider personally. A name match is not confirmation of identity — check NPI, specialty, and location. CMS updates the data annually; corrections or disputes at CMS may not yet appear here; the official CMS record is authoritative.
