📏 Your phone's camera becomes a tape measure.

"Will the fridge fit in this gap?" "Will that shelf fit on this wall?" — before you go hunting for a tape measure, point your camera and tap. The answer is right there. AR Tape Measure reads the length, width and height of the spaces and things around you, and keeps the results.

■ What you can measure
• Distance — the length between two points: the width of a gap, the spot a cabinet has to go, the clearance above it. Keep tapping to add points and get the total along a path
• Area — floor and wall area, with the perimeter alongside it
• Rectangle — tap three corners for both sides and the area at once
• Circle — tap the center and an edge for diameter, circumference and area
• Rangefinder — live distance to whatever you aim at, no tapping
• Screen Ruler — hold a small object against the screen and read it off the scale. No camera needed

■ Why AR Tape Measure
• Fast — aim and tap. Nothing to unroll, nothing to hold down, nothing to write down.
• Your units carry through — pick inches, feet or yards and the area and volume come back as ft² and ft³, not square meters. In the US it starts out in feet.
• It won't invent a number — when a reading would be wrong, like picking up the floor behind an object, it refuses to place the point and asks you to scan that surface first. Corners snap on their own.
• Every measurement is a photo — the shot is saved with the dimensions drawn on it, and it stays in your measurement history.

■ Honestly
AR measurement is at its best on bright, textured surfaces. Blank white walls, low light and very small objects widen the error, and the app will ask you to move the phone slowly when that happens. It's a quick everyday tape measure, not a surveying instrument.
