Card Evolution adds an exciting layer of strategy to Clash Royale gameplay by enhancing specific cards' abilities. Here's a breakdown of how the evolution mechanic works and how you can use it to dominate battles.

To evolve a card, you'll need Evolution Shards, which are card-specific tokens that unlock their evolved versions. Collect six shards for a card and you can evolve it. Shards can be found in the Season Shop, Pass Royale, daily shops, Path of Legends and level-up chests. If you want more flexibility, Wild Shards allow you to evolve any card without needing a card-specific shard.

Once you have the required shards, place your evolved card in the Evolution Slot — this is the only slot where the enhanced abilities can be used. Like Champion cards, you're limited to one evolved card per deck, so choose wisely.

Evolved cards unlock their evolved abilities once you've cycled through them once. Each evolved card has a unique power that makes it a game-changer. For example, evolved Barbarians get angrier with each hit, increasing their attack speed and movement and making them deadly​.
