The Stream Queens share their favorite games

The best streamers not only entertain, but also provide their fans a sense of belonging. That’s exactly the mission of the Stream Queens, who bring together drag performers who love to game and create a community for their fans.

Founded in 2019, the Stream Queens are an all-drag troupe of content creators including “Kings, Queens, Characters & Creatures” who stream video games on Twitch. We asked three of their members to share their favorite games.

DEERE is a founding member of the Stream Queens with a love of horror games. She won the 2021 Gayming Awards LGBTQ+ Streamer of the Year and through “thrills, chills, frights, and highlight” aims to create an online space for the LGTBQ+ gaming community to thrive.

“Garten of BanBan 2 is a hoot! Do you like creepy crawly horrors that'll make you jump, but it's also cute? It's got puzzles and monsters chasing you at every turn, plus colorful visuals and endearing characters. I love horror that gives a surprise, and this is a game you won't want to miss!”

Drag queen streamer Carrie the One has a passion for creating spaces for queer and trans folks to feel seen and supported. They often use their streams playing shooter, horror, and community games to help fundraise for their favorite causes.

“My earliest gaming memories are of playing Street Fighter 2 with my little brother, so I had to try Street Fighter: Duel! It brings all the nostalgia of my favorite characters into a new RPG format that feels like a perfect balance of old and new. If you're like me and like to build a squad of butt-kicking women who bring the fashion at the same time, you have to give it a play!”

Self-proclaimed “drag investigator” Kiyoshi YoRHa is a streamer with a love of puzzles, survival, and detective games. Their love of gaming also extends to music, with a passion for video game composers like Lena Raine and River Boy.

“I’ve played my fair share of deck builders, and Marvel Snap was the easiest to hop into! There are multiple ways to play, and if you play your strategy right, you can shift the match back into your favor. Progression in the game is very simple and rewarding, as your favorite cards get amazing cosmetic upgrades!”
