Tanks are high-health units that soak up damage, protecting your weaker troops and structures. They are typically placed at the front of pushes to absorb hits while your other cards deal damage. They are essential for initiating pushes and drawing enemy fire away from more fragile units. Common tanks include Giant, Golem, and P.E.K.K.A.

These cards are designed to deal significant damage to enemy troops or structures. They often have lower health, so they need protection from enemies. Examples include the Musketeer, Mini P.E.K.K.A., and Electro Wizard. Damage dealers can be split into two categories: single-target (like Mini P.E.K.K.A.) for a single hit and splash damage (like Baby Dragon) for dealing with multiple units​.

Support troops are versatile units that back up your main attackers, providing either additional damage, crowd control, or buffs. Win conditions are cards or combinations of cards that are central to your strategy for destroying enemy towers. They are the primary threats in your deck, and all your strategy is typically built around them. Examples include Hog Rider, Royal Giant, and Balloon. A good deck usually has a clear win condition supported by other roles​.

Control cards are used to manage the battlefield, either by pulling enemy units out of position or by shutting down specific strategies. They can turn the tide of a battle by neutralizing or delaying threats​. These include cards like Tornado for repositioning enemy troops or Fisherman for pulling key units away from your towers.

Tower Troops are unique cards that are directly connected to your Princess Towers. When you deploy a Tower Troop, it effectively transforms your Princess Tower into a specialized unit for a certain period, allowing it to attack more dynamically.

Cards like the Cannoneer convert your Princess Tower into a cannon, focusing on heavy damage against ground troops, while the Tower Princess serves as an all-round defense card, fending off tanks and swarms alike.
