At first it was just "cute" and "adorable," but as she's gotten older and kids have gotten meaner, words like "loser" and "pathetic" appear, and those words bubble up and itch. Now, at age twelve, she's starting middle school, and just when her friends who used to accept and protect her are drifting away, she receives an anonymous note saying "I know who you are, and I know what you're dealing with. Previously a K-8 library media specialist, Abby Cooper is now a full-time author of books for children. She has written the novels Bubbles and Sticks and Stones. Friend or Fiction is her third novel for middle-grade readers.

Rachel L. Jacobs holds a bachelor's degree from Oberlin College's Theater Program. She has years of experience as a theater and musical theater actress, touring the West Coast (of the US) and China. An AudioFile Earphones and Parent's Choice Award-winning narrator, Rachel now narrates books full-time.
