The research that Chernow did for this book is is mind boggling. How he obtained so many primary resources, I'll never know. Especially Hamilton's personal letters and papers. If I'm going to read a bio, it has to be comprehensive and based on primary resources. I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in understanding our most complex and energetic forefather.

Very good detailed book with amazing details. Bring your dictionary, He uses some amazingly obscure language and words worthy of any S.A.T. Very similar to what we are seeing in today’s politics.

I never knew that History could be so interesting! If only every History class was like Hamilton!

Ron Chernow is the prizewinning author of seven books and the recipient of the 2015 National Humanities Medal. His first book, The House of Morgan, won the National Book Award; Washington: A Life won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography; and Alexander Hamilton—the inspiration for the Broadway musical—won the George Washington Book Prize. His other books include The Warburgs, The Death of the Banker, Titan, and Grant. A past president of PEN America, Chernow has been the recipient of eight honorary doctorates. He resides in Brooklyn, New York.
