About the author
Physicist and best-selling author Brian Greene is a professor of Physics and Mathematics at Columbia University. He is a proponent of "string theory," which attempts to unify all the forces of nature into a single framework. His books include The Fabric of the Cosmos and The Elegant Universe.
Jay Allison, the host of This I Believe, is an independent broadcast journalist. His work airs on NPR's All Things Considered and Morning Edition, PRI's This American Life, ABC News' Nightline, and other national programs.
