It was good, but I can't help but feel I was reading a half baked Terry Brooks novel. Coville split the story into too many arcs, and he didn't time his story shifts as well as Brooks. Giving the characters 2-3 names made character tracking in the story pure torture . This makes it significantly worse than The Hobbit with the 13 dwarves when it came to remembering who was who. At least Tolkien kept them together and had them more or less functioning as a group unit which made tracking easy. The character tracking on this book made The Hobbit look easy.

a wonderful book series! I've always wanted to finish these books, & thanks to audiobooks I have! if you love unicorns, fantasy, & adventure then definitely pick up the Unicorn Chronicles. they get better with each book!
