• I am an engineer. I ran my own sales engineering business for 16 years and had amazing success beyond my imagination. I concentrated on personal development and was fascinated with aspects of psychology. I know. Weird. Engineers and sales and psychology... don't often go together.
• DISC and Emotional Intelligence were two concepts where I provided assessments. I felt I had good ideas to share for career and personal development. As I began writing, a method for dealing with emotional events, big and small, fell into place. It was the same method I had been using most of life but had never managed to articulate it. When I encountered even small emotional events that were negatively impacting me, I actively took control. I didn't allow myself to get triggered to the point where I would enter an Amygdala hijacked state.
• It was an assembly of lesser-known sales and psychology ideas, that blended into the method I share in the book. Learning the basics of the method is quick. I provide an acronym, ABC1, you can use right away. Once you've tried the method on a couple of issues, you can expand the applicability of ABC1 to big and small issues.
