About this audiobook

A biological weapon engineered for mass destruction could be unleashed at any moment.

When terrorists seize control of a genetically modified biological weapon, Emergency Room physician, Lillian Whyte, finds herself in the thick of danger. While her husband, CIA operative Sean Jennings, works to unravel the plotting terrorists, Lillian is swept into the deadly currents. As UN peace-keeping meeting approaches and lives are threatened, she may be the worlds only hope of stopping the release of the deadly disease.

"CB Samet is the master of the craft, exhibiting a great narrative style and a strong, captivating voice. I enjoyed a lot about this novel, including the well-paced, intriguing plot, the memorable characters, and the wonderful prose." —Readers' Favorite: Book Review (2017)

Lillian and Sean's adventure continues in this second installment in the Dr. Whyte Thriller Series. They are such wonderful characters. They are both strong, determined, and supportive. The side characters are great, and intriguing. The world building is intricate, and suspenseful. I like the action, the mystery, and the twists and turns throughout the story. Once again, Leslie Howard did a fantastic job with the narration. I can't wait to listen to the next installment in the Series, Gray Horizon.

Whyte Knight is a closed door romantic suspense that is best enjoyed by those who appreciate more action/suspense than romance as well as detailed medical information. Set six years after the first book in the series, Black Gold, we’re reunited with Dr. Lillian Whyte and her CIA operative husband Sean Jennings. I liked that C. B. Samet gave our couple a few years of marital bliss before tossing them into the middle of a terrorist plot to acquire biological weapons. Personally, I’m not a fan of flashbacks as a literary device to bring readers up to speed and there were quite a few in this book. However, I still enjoyed this book immensely. Sean & Lillian are in Montreal for a “book signing” of his latest release and to do some sightseeing. Lillian is aware that Sean is still part-time CIA and often uses his book tours to do some covert passing of sensitive information. This time things go wrong in so many ways and Lily is sucked in to his operation, much to Sean’s dismay. Another thing that I appreciate about Samet’s work is that while Lily & Sean are both experienced and competent at their jobs, things don’t always go perfectly for them. This adds a level of realism sometimes lacking from other thrillers. There was also a nice twist in distinguishing villain from ally. Leslie Howard repeats her fantastic performance from the first book. She gives each character, even from other countries, consistent and distinguishable accents. She evokes emotion and tension in a way that complements the action. I received a free copy of this audiobook from Story Origin and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
