The more they get to know the victim, the more they realize the handsome athlete sported a dark side that few people saw. Those who did had a reason to kill him. Which suspect struck the victim with his own polo mallet? His wife, lover, friends or colleagues?

CJArcher has a wonderful innate ability to write in a way to make the reader feel they are within the scene and feeling all the emotions of the characters as their own. I have found all CJArcher books encompass historical living sensibilities, the intrigate effects on everyday lives in responce to the progression of history, murder mystery, problem solving, team work, ethics and compassion. Above all, CJArcher's ability to portray a scene of anxious romantic anticipation catpuring you in a sense of feeling warmth, heated, breathless, or longing is absolutely exceptional. Unfortunately, a long seven books into the Cleopatra Fox Series has proven to fall far short of the usually strong romance standard. The history and mystery components of the series exceed expectations and keeps you captivated. However, if you are looking for the usual titillising romance, you will be extremely disappointed.

The romance builds in the the fascinating new world of polo players.
