When Hector's mother suggests that he and his amigo, Mando, get out of East LA for the weekend and see some of the world, he's thinking Paris. So he's a little disappointed when they end up in Fresno, sleeping on a lumpy couch in his Uncle Julio's messy apartment. Hector figures it's going to be one boring weekend. He couldn't be more wrong. Between flying in a rickety old plane, spotting an armored car heist, and warding off the bumbling thieves who did it, this could be the craziest—and scariest—weekend ever.

Gary Soto is a distinguished poet and author of numerous books for adults and children. His work has garnered many honors and awards, including fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. Mr. Soto lives with his family in Berkeley, CA.
Anthony Perez is a Miami, Florida, native who, from a young age, found great passion for words, using them in mediums such as poetry, stage, and film. He later concentrated on theater, earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from Florida State University, focusing on Shakespeare, voice, and dialects, along with specialized Master Class training under Sir Ian McKellen. His talent and love for his craft have brought him to Los Angeles, where he is currently a stage and film actor.
