It’s time for a change, so Dominic packs a few things and heads out, letting the world take him where it may. Legend of his victory quickly spreads, and each new friend Dominic meets tells him a story of their own less-fortunate meeting with the villains, and asks for help from the heroic dog. But can one lone dog bring down an entire band of hooligans?

William Steig published his first children’s book, Roland the Minstrel Pig, in 1968, and received the Caldecott Medal for Sylvester and the Magic Pebble in 1970. Dominic won the 1973 Christopher Award and was named an ALA Notable Book and a National Book Award Finalist.
