I was expecting something different. I didn’t care for the portrayal of Evangelical Christians as if all Christians are extremist nut jobs. The portrayal of Jews was just as insulting and inaccurate. I am not sure if reading the hard copy would have been better. I don’t feel that Rebecca Gibel was the best option for the audiobook. I usually like her but her performance in this one seems out of place for the genre.

Ellen Frankel served for eighteen years as editor in chief and CEO of The Jewish Publication Society. She received her BA from the University of Michigan and her PhD in comparative literature from Princeton. She has traveled widely as a Jewish storyteller and lecturer.

Rebecca Gibel, an award-winning stage, television, and voice actress, has worked across the country at theaters such as Trinity Rep, Cleveland Play House, and the Arden Theatre Company. Rebecca has narrated over fifty audiobooks and is facile in a wide variety of genres.
