On a dig at the edge of the sun-seared Sonoran Desert, archaeologist Nicolette Scott witnesses a bizarre plane crash that leaves a young man dead in the cockpit of his mangled, burning Cessna. R. R. Irvine is the author of the Moroni Traveler and Robert Christopher series, among others. He studied anthropology and archaeology at the University of California at Berkeley and now lives in Northern California.
