If I explain that HORSE recounts the true story of the most famous horse in 19th century United States history, I don’t even begin to clue you in to the scope, brilliance, and emotional power of this novel. And to be honest, this is not subject matter I am normally drawn to. But it is definitely as good as everyone says. Which I guess shouldn’t be a big surprise coming from Pulitzer Prize winning author Geraldine Brooks.

Interesting! Sometimes hard to keep track of all the characters. It was like several books in one. Very enjoyable.

I love this book! I love horses and especially love the relationship of Jarrett and the horse! I loved all the characters and how you found out more about each as the story unfolded!

Geraldine Brooks is the author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel March and the international bestsellers The Secret Chord, Caleb’s Crossing, People of the Book, and Year of Wonders. She has also written the acclaimed nonfiction works Nine Parts of Desire and Foreign Correspondence. Born and raised in Australia, Brooks lives in Massachusetts.
