Jacqueline Wilson is a hugely successful children’s author and has won a number of prestigious awards, including the British Children's Book of the Year and the Guardian Children's Fiction Award. In 2002 Jacqueline received an OBE for services to literacy in schools. She was the highest-borrowed author in British libraries in the last decade.
Sandi Toksvig is a British writer, presenter, comedian, actress and producer. While at Girton College, Cambridge University, she wrote and performed in the first all-woman show for the Cambridge Footlights. Sandi also performed in musicals and plays, and made her television debut presenting the children’s series No. 73 (1982–1986). She has written plays, novels and books for children, and is also a political activist, having co-founded the Women's Equality Party in 2015.
