This book communicates so well the power of an all loving and all powerful Creator God, who loves His enemies (all of us) as He was willfully hung on a cross for our guilt. The Ten Boom family models what it looks like to obey God and love our enemies as Jesus does.

well-written account of one of millions of lives torn apart by the horrors and evil of wwii. black lice, jaundice, gangrene, starvation, beatings and bitter cold. i find it impossible to forgive those who allowed it to happen and i wasnt there. So amazed at her and her family's strength. To shake that man's hand, would have taken more for me than it would to bear the suffering and humiliation he caused.

I have read this book several times. It really enthralled me. Life is hard. But if I compare my life to what Corrie Ten Boom went through, it's not hard at all. She had a strong faith in God, and a close relationship with Jesus, and that got her through her experience. I re-read it from time to time to help remind myself that my life is really, very good, and that I need to continue to build my relationship with Jesus every day as well. It will get me through hard times; as it did Corrie.
