Human, funny, cathartic and beautifully read. Leigh has a wonderful voice in both the figurative writing and literal performance sense. I found it a heart warming, interesting and compassionate exploration of one of the fundamental human experiences. Leigh's enthusiasm for the subject and writing itself is very obvious. Her compassion and curiosity pour out of every chapter. Perhaps some chapter's backgrounds could have been tighter to subject but I absolutely loved listening to this book!

Leigh Cowart is a researcher and journalist whose work has appeared in the Washington Post, New York Magazine, Buzzfeed News, Hazlitt, Longreads, Vice, and other outlets. Before becoming a journalist, Cowart was immersed in academia, doing research on subjects like sexual dimorphism in leaf-nosed bats, and resource allocation in flowers. They live in Asheville, NC.
