Well-known cookery writer Damien Trench is famous for his book A Year in the Kitchen, a diary of everything he cooked and ate over the course of 12 months. Now, for the follow-up volume, In and Out of the Kitchen, Damien undertakes to open up the doors "not only to my kitchen, but also to my life". But is Damien’s life as idyllic as his listeners might suppose?

During the course of these 22 episodes, we follow the ups and downs of life for Damien and his partner, Anthony, as Damien films a pilot for his TV series Poets and their Palates, appears at a literary festival, dips his toe into the world of journalism, contends with the well-meaning interference of friends, looks after a baby, and plans his wedding.

Many of Damien’s recipes are included along the way. As he himself might say, enjoy - and more importantly, cook.

Miles Jupp is an actor, comedian and writer. He started performing stand-up in 2000, and the following year won both So You Think You're Funny and The Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year. He was nominated for the Perrier Best Newcomer award for his debut Edinburgh solo show Gentlemen Prefer Brogues. He contributes to a number of Radio 4 shows as well as his own series for the station Miles Jupp's Real World (with Frankie Boyle). His TV credits include The Thick Of It, Gary: Tank Commander and Rev. His film work includes Made In Dagenham, Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix and Sherlock Holmes. He is known to younger fans as Archie the Inventor in the children's series Balamory. His show Fibber in the Heat was one of the big successes of the Edinburgh festival in 2010. Justin Edwards is a comedian and actor who came to fame as one of the Perrier Award-winning sketch trio The Consultants. He created the character of Jeremy Lion, a drunken children's entertainer, and has appeared in numerous TV shows including The Thick of It, Respectable and the new version of Are You Being Served? On radio, he and Ben Willbond co-wrote and co-starred in the hit sitcom Double Science. Among Justin Edwards' other radio credits are The News Quiz and In and Out of the Kitchen.
