John Marsden was born in Victoria, Australia and from an early age enjoyed reading. At nine years old, he decided he wanted to become an author. Mikaela Martin studied acting and dance before embarking on a career in the performing arts. She has appeared in various stage productions including Much Ado About Nothing and The Twelfth Night for the Railway Street Theatre Company. She has also performed in films, television commercials and the radio play Gone for Sydney radio station 2SER FM.
