It was a warm summer evening in the small town of Crestview. Tim and Karen, two young siblings, were enjoying a leisurely walk through the woods near their home. They had grown up in the town and were familiar with every inch of the surrounding forest. As they ventured further into the dense foliage, they stumbled upon an old, dilapidated well tucked away in a clearing.
“Wow, I didn’t even know this was here,” Karen exclaimed, peering over the edge of the well.
“Yeah, me neither. It looks like it’s been here for centuries,” Tim replied, peering down into the darkness.
“Do you think we should make a wish?” Karen asked playfully.
“Sure, why not?” Tim grinned, feeling mischievous. “I’ll go first. I wish for a lifetime supply of candy!”
Karen rolled her eyes and playfully elbowed her brother. “You’re such a child. Alright, my turn. I wish for endless adventure and excitement!”
As the siblings finished making their wishes, a sudden gust of wind swept through the clearing, causing the trees to groan and sway. Tim and Karen exchanged a startled look before laughing it off as a coincidence. Little did they know that their innocent wishes had awakened something sinister within the depths of the well.
