In Indiana, Colter Shaw meets with Ron Matthews, who has offered a reward to find his missing wife. A talented artist, Evelyn Fonteyn has been missing for just over a month, not having returned from an artists’ retreat, and Ron is sure she has been kidnapped. Colter gathers information and calculates the odds on Evie’s likely fate. He tracks her down and finds that he almost has it right, except for a deadly twist. An excellent little introduction to the series.
