About this audiobook

She already left one fiancé. She didn’t need another.

When Bree Garrett’s former college roommate invites Bree to move to Starlight Ridge, a small tourist town on the Californian coast, she is all too happy to leave the deserts of New Mexico and the memories of her former life. She only has three conditions:

One- No one can find out about her fear of water—totally embarrassing when you live next to the ocean.

Two- No seafood. She can't stomach it. Yeah, she sees the irony of points number one and two.

Three- No blind dates. The last thing she needs is a relationship. Her ex-fiancé would agree.

Easier said than done when the only job available is at a surf shop and the owner, Caleb, is under the impression that Bree has applied to be a scuba instructor, and not a cashier, as she had intended.

Bree tries to clear up the misunderstanding, but it’s hard when she seems to lose her voice—and her breath—every time Caleb is near. How could she not when he happens to be attractive, single and, as it turns out, also doesn't like seafood?

Bree and Caleb struggle against the pull of the tide that seems determined to bring them together. But, despite their differences, maybe this is one battle that is okay to lose.

This is the first book I’ve read or listened to by Kat Bellemore, and I was pleasantly surprised! I’ll definitely be looking for more books by this author! Diving Into Love is a sweet romance without heaving bosoms and well chiseled jawlines. The love story focuses on a deepening friendship that turns into love rather than merely a physical attraction that turns into a lot of sex. You can listen to this book with your teens and tweens without blushing or having to explain things you don’t want to talk about with them. The characters are funny and fully developed. Neither of the lead roles is sheer perfection and larger than life. Instead, both are flawed humans who are doing the best they can in the situations they find themselves in. Plus, this love story stays away from the angst and over-the-top drama found in most love stories! Claire Duncan does a fantastic job narrating this story. She brings life to the characters through her vocal talent. Each character has a distinct voice and personality throughout her reading. The one flaw with this audio version is the incredibly long pauses between chapters. I kept picking up my phone to see if the book had turned off. When you’re listening, just accept the pauses. You don’t need to stop what you’re doing to check your phone. You’re just in a chapter break of silence. If you are looking for a fun romance full of comedy, love, and human emotions, this book is for you!

Normally I wouldn't have been interested in reading this book based on the description. However, I REALLY enjoyed this story.! The narrator did a great job! I loved the chemistry between Bree and Caleb, and I especially liked how they helped each other grow and become better, trying things that they wouldn't have done without each other. I also loved Kat's writing style and enjoyed the witty banter. This book brought me nostalgia of many a wonderful and memorable vacation. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a well-written, sweet and clean romance by a new author to me. I did find that I liked the end the best. In a culture where many people are only about their own wants and needs, it was refreshing that both characters were willing to leave everything familiar for the other to be happy. I am curious about the previous series set in Amor. I received this audiobook from the author for review and all the thoughts and opinions are my own.

About the author

Kat Bellemore is the author of the Borrowing Amor small town romance series. Deciding to have New Mexico as the setting for the series was an easy choice, considering its amazing sunsets, blue skies and tasty green chile. That, and she currently lives there with her husband and two cute kids. They hope to one day add a dog to the family, but for now, the native animals of the desert will have to do. Though, Kat wouldn't mind ridding the world of scorpions and centipedes. They're just mean. You can visit Kat at www.kat-bellemore.com Claire Duncan is a Canadian-born award-winning actress, singer and narrator living in NYC. Her voice can be heard on Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, in hundreds of national commercials, and in over 20 audiobooks. She has performed on stages across the country, including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and starred in a dozen independent films, receiving a Best Actress Award for her work in Rosetta's Blues, which debuted at Cannes.
