Overall the audiobook was at a perfect level for me, but I have been studying the basics for a while. I would recommend this for high-beginners to intermediate. It would probably be too hard if you're just starting out, because many of the stories have fantasy elements too, which adds to the complexity when listening. I plan to buy the Intermediate volume after I spend some more time re-listening these stories.

As a person who is trying to learn french (self-teaching), I found the short story approach very interesting, since it allowed me to get a context for the new words, and the vocabulary recap was really hepful. I also enjoyed listening to both female and male voices as well.

Personally I think I’d get a paper version next time so I can flick between the stories and some of the vocabulary lists as this would make jumping between the stories and the vocabulary lists a little easier. I’ve certainly learnt some news words and stretched my French vocabulary and this is a fun and interesting way to learn.
