Jessica Harrington is a promising horserider who dreams of representing her country. But the recent death of her father – her coach and mentor – has left her doubting her ability to continue in the sport. When she fails at the Adelaide International Horse Trials her fears are confirmed – and her world begins to fall apart. Unable to bear seeing her well-bred, highly trained horses languishing in the paddock, she makes the snap decision to sell. She’s broken her own heart, but can’t see any other way – now she will just have to focus on a life without them. Her husband Steve and best friend Tiffany, however, can see through her bravado. Fiona McCallum is a full-time novelist based in Adelaide, South Australia. She writes heart-warming journey-of-self-discovery stories that draw on her life experiences, love of animals and fascination with the power and support that comes from strong friendships.

An award-winning filmmaker, Miranda has combined her passions for storytelling and social justice on diverse projects; from devised theatre with trafficked women, to running film workshops in a refugee camp. Originally training and working as an actress, Miranda shifted her focus to writing and directing, especially driven to create strong complex roles for women. Miranda’s short films have played at international festivals including Clermont-Ferrand, Edinburgh, Sydney and Melbourne. Her feature film Undertow premiered at the Melbourne International Film Festival in 2018.
