About this audiobook

When you can talk to ghosts, things are bound to get spirited.

The ghosts have been there since before I can remember. When I was a kid, they doted on me, but as I got older, they got more demanding. I’ve spent my whole life seeing and talking to dead people and trying to pretend I’m not, because the living just don’t understand. Nobody wants to be around the freak who claims to see ghosts.

Until I go to Mannix Estate.

Once a private country home, then a posh hotel, it was closed after a suspicious incident but is now an immersive historic experience. It’s also haunted AF, and everyone knows it. Finally, I’ve found a place to work and live where I can be useful. Where I’m actually wanted.

There are only two problems: I spent a hot, sweaty, satisfying night with Ewan the blacksmith before I knew we’d have to work together. Everyone knows sex with colleagues is a bad idea, right? Even if he’s the world’s most ripped cinnamon roll.

Plus, the ghosts are keeping secrets. There’s something going on that’s not normal, even for a haunted estate. And I suspect that when the truth comes out, I’m the one who’ll have to deal with it... and it won’t be good.

Brilliant Story & Narration🎧 Intriguing Paranormal Fantasy! ~ ~ This is a wonderfully amazing story, and I loved everything about it, from Louisa Master’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created the perfectly cast narrator who brings it all to life from the pages to your ears. I am uncertain how this is my first book written by this author, but I can say it certainly will not be my last. The story immediately drew me in, grabbing my attention and captivating it the entire book. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are likable and easy to care about too, ghost included. Josh has a gift, an ability to see and speak to ghosts, but this gift is sometimes a hindrance, especially when they disrupt his life with sudden appearances, causing his reactions and have others look at him like he is crazy. He has found the perfect job, working at Mannix Estate, a haunted hotel, where nobody would think it is strange if he talks to ghosts. New in town, he stops at a bar the night before his interview and hits it off with a gorgeous hunk of a guy and has a memorable and super steamy one night with. Neither one exchanged information, and they never thought they would work together either. Josh’s one-night stand is Ewan, the blacksmith at the Mannix Estate. Awkward! Well, it does not have to be, since they work together they will keep it professional from now on. Josh is the perfect fit for the job and even the ghosts agree, he was even surprised how the others are aware of the ghosts and can either see or hear them. I adored those ghosts and their personalities, what come out of some of their mouths was hilarious. This book is one of my top listens for the year, it is a brilliantly plotted story that is fascinating and imaginative and there is plenty of drama, some great humor and witty dialogue, some scary moments, heartfelt moments and a hot night to slow burn romance, Louisa Masters thank you for this entertaining and enjoyable story, I loved this world you created and the characters in it. I am looking forward to what comes next for all of them. ~ 🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Nick J. Russo is a superbly talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. He had a complete understanding of the characters he portrayed, gave each a voice that was a perfect fit for that character’s persona, sounding believable in every role he played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. His character voices were spot on for every one of them and he grasped their every emotion and projected them into his performance. He set the perfect tone for the story, handled the witty dialogue with ease, landed the humor effortlessly, never missing a beat. Russo is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to, his narration enhances an already brilliant story to another level. Thank you for another impressive listen.

What an incredibly fun and clever story! I'm impressed with Louisa Masters' spin on the idea of ghosts and spirituals and demons... and it's so much fun! There's humor and romance and friendship, just lots of plain ole' good times. Seriously, just a flawless story. Brava. Audio performed by Nick J. Russo.
