Laura Davila is a fifth-generation Mexican witch, a long-time practitioner of Mexican ensalmeria, hechiceria, brujeria, and folk Catholicism. Laura identifies as a "bruja de rancho"-a "ranch witch"-a term with great resonance in Mexico indicating knowledge of botanicals and the natural world.

Cynthia Farrell is a narrator, musical theater singer, and voice-over actor in English and in Spanish. She has enjoyed narrating audiobooks in a wide array of genres, including young adult, science fiction, crime drama, romance, Christian, nonfiction, and children's literature. She lives with her daughters in Manhattan.
